Happy Thursday, D’Arcy dance family and friends!
BBBRRRR!!! Baby it’s cold outside!!! I wanted to write a quick blog this week that steers away from dance, but focuses on something I find very important to teach in my classes. As you know, I always talk about doing good deeds for others and I can’t think of a better time than the wonderful and giving month of December; a month full of joy and excitement! However, during this exciting month, we must not forget to spread holiday cheer to others that need it the most!
That being said, I wanted to see if I can start a movement amongst our family and friends called “The Coffee Campaign.”
How many of you buy coffee everyday on your way to work? I want you to think about the money you’re spending this holiday season. Now, ask yourself whether or not you can spare an extra $1.00-$3.00 to purchase an extra coffee to give to someone who could really use a nice warm drink. Whether it is the gas station workers who have to stand outside in the bitter cold, a homeless person who has nowhere warm to sleep, the local garbage man, or even the Salvation Army workers who stand outside collecting money for a good cause, a simple $1 small coffee can change the course of their day.
A warm drink can provide warm hands. Warm hands can provide warm hearts. Let’s spread love and warmth to those who need it most this holiday season!
Happy Holidays to all and don’t forget to spread the warmth!
PS. Don’t forget to SHARE your story with the D’Arcy School of Irish Dance!
Xoxo,
Colleen
